Rubbish Revival Project

The Rubbish Revival Project(RRP) is an initiative that creates enjoyable artworks using materials I already own, found items, or things obtained through Free-cycle and Trash Nothing. Arthur Ashe's words, “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can,” serve as this project’s mantra. I embrace any material without restriction, challenging myself with whatever feels usable to give form to the image that came to mind.

In this project, I explore whether items that break during daily use—even if they cannot be repaired—can be repurposed as materials for artwork. I also take care to minimize waste that could pollute the environment during the creative process. Any technique is acceptable as long as the materials are not purchased, including assemblage and collage.

I'd long wondered if I could make art using materials found discarded on the street, but never got around to it. During the pandemic, I started building things like Little Free Libraries, compost bins, and planters using boards and furniture I found on the street. This project evolved from that.
